Creative writing class

Hello all! Yesterday morning, we were given creative writing prompts, and I came up with a long poem about alien abduction. Having nowhere else to put it, I suppose it goes here. Not exactly related to anime or philosophy, but...meh, whatever! And no, this isn't polished up. This is, as William Forrester would say, "You rewrite with your head. The first key to writing is... to write, not to think!"

Abduction, or a lack thereof
I remember sitting in my yard
Just looking at the stars
Counting each and every one
Marveling at how many there are

When all of a sudden, a bright green light
Appeared high in the sky
I scrambled to my feet and fled
But was snatched up with a cry

Into a beam that dragged me from
The field on which I stood
And into a spaceship of some kind—
I’d describe it if I could.

Suffice to say it was quite big
And small at the same time
The walls and ceiling rotated
Seemingly keeping time

I was greeted by a creature there
Who was cold and unkind—
“Take us to your leaders, please,
And we won’t destroy your mind.”

What could I do? I tried to block
Obama from my head
But it was useless, the creature grinned,
And should’ve left me dead.

It had a ray gun, but I was not
The type to die for naught
I pulled on his antennae hard
Around the ship we fought

Eventually, panting hard,
I grabbed the gun and smiled
The creature’s eyes were wide with fear
Its heartbeat going wild

“I thought a threat would compel you more
Than kinder words could do,
And honestly we just want to talk
We have no fight with you.”

I looked at it, then held out a hand
And we shook, to make a deal
That it would never come back and I’d
Keep the illusion that aliens weren’t real.
